hockey goalie help?

is it weird if i play ice hockey as a goalie as my regular skater helet or will i look like im a loser?
i am playing in a game for fun…..and any tips please?

No. It was actually the norm in amateur hockey because the form fitted masks were not legal for many years. You may look a little out of date, but not silly. Besides, it’s about having fun, not being stylish.

I think it was Osgood and Hasek who wore regular helmets and cages back in the ’90s. As long as you don’t wear the plastic masks, I think you’ll be fine.

No Hasek does it. However, you should know that your regular helmet is going to protect you a lot less then a goalie helmet will so you should probably borrow a friends.

if your having an 80’s theme hockey game it be fine. i would go with a goalie helmet preferrably. plus it is probably safer with more neck/jaw protection with a real goalie helmit.

It’s fine, lots of NHL goalies do it, I’m going into my 7th season as a goalie and ive been wearing a modified regular helemt all of them
