I think I have Iliotibial Band Syndrome, can i run?

I have been training for a half marathon for about six months. The race is next weekend. During today’s run I had some moderate pain in the outer part of my knee. I have been icing. How dangerous is it for me to run the race with this injury?

im a 20 year old junior in college, 5′11 135 pounds and i play hockey. one of my biggest problems is that since im tall and light that i can get pushed around easy on the ice no matter how strong on my skates i am. ive worked out for awhile and i keep slowly getting stronger but i still never put any weight on. i take whey protein, but would taking creatine with it too help me more? the season just ended so i have about six months until next season starts. ive always been light and had a hard time putting weight on just because im usually active and i have a good metabolism, plus i never really eat that unhealthy to put like bad fat on
